Susanne
Founder and Director of JIVA/ANAND Yoga Shala München & JIVA/ANAND Yoga Teacher Training

After many years of doing her own yoga practice while teaching physical education Susanne started teaching yoga some 20 years ago. She founded the JIVA/ANAND YOGA School & Teacher Trainee Programm and educated a wonderful group of Yogis even before settling down in the heart of Munich. Some of these teachers are still part of the JIVA/ANAND YOGA TEAM sharing their yoga and teaching at our home base – the Munich Shala – while others are out in the world spreading the spirit.

What I wish for our Shala ?

„In our Shala my vision is to provide a shelter that helps students to wind down, to step outside their usual routine, to explore, challenge, relax, to experience the space beyond the sukha (pleasurable) and dukha (unpleasant) aspects of life. I want every body to experience the space within where everything is peace and joy, this sheltered space where regeneration takes place, where everything is possible – that space where you feel free and you experience your true nature.“

What I wish for my students?

„Find your true desires, learn to discriminate what it is that society wants from you and what it is that you want and need. Then walk your path with continuity – you will feel your heart prana moving. You can steer your own life – find your yoga, believe in your Self.“

András
András
András is Director of the JIVA/ANAND YOGA Retreat Program.

Having lived in the US, Sweden and Switzerland, Andras originally comes from Hungary. András studied with Sri Dharma Mittra in New York and went through the full JIVA/ANAND Yoga education (500+) under Susanne’s supervision. His teaching is inspired by his love for people, his desire to help, his motivation to transmit his enthusiasm and fascination with yoga and support others to enjoy their path and practice the way he has come to experience it.

„Yoga for me is the ultimate discipline: exciting, diverse, simple but at the same time very complex. A bridge between physique, intellect and spirit based on a daily self-practice.  A regular self-practice is like a “good habit” that fills you with joy when life is going well and can be a life-saver when life appears confusing and filled with tension, stress and distractions. In addition, yoga brings a disease-free body, a balanced mind, radiant health and long life. To speak with Yogi Gupta’s words — Sri Swami Kailashananda Maharaji a.k.a. Yogi Gupta, the guru of Dharma Mittra — “Yoga brings very special results. It is the door-opener to intuitive knowledge and Eternal Bliss.”

For my students I wish to help them experience the effects of Yoga as a “good habit” that fills you with balance and ease of mind and supports radiant health.

Eric Brown
Eric Brown
Eric has been teaching since 1980. Adept in Vinyasa Yoga, Power Yoga and Iyengar Yoga styles, most of his classes follow the classical hatha yoga style influenced by Tirumalai Krishnamacharya. During his many years of teaching he developed a unique teaching style that is bound to serve every-body with a refined interest in yoga – a method he calls sukha yoga.

Eric Brown, Master in HATHA, IYENGAR and VINYASA YOGA, was born and grew up in San Diego. He discovered the many faceted world of yoga in 1967 in San Francisco during the Summer of Love. Since then, he deepened his knowledge of the Holy Science with a myriad of teachers both in America and the Far East. He began his professional teaching phase in 1980 conducting yoga classes in Hawaii, New York, all over Europe, the Near East, and India.

Eric’s spiritual development has been heavily influenced by Self-Inquiry, A Course in Miracles, the Vedas, and his ongoing relationship with the Holy Spirit.

Eric’s in depth-knowledge of the physical body and his subtle and humorous teaching style will encourage you to dive deeper into the many facets of yoga, explore your subtle bodies and bring the full-filling „sukha“ aspects of yoga within easy reach.

Jiva Anand Yoga Signet

It’s a mistake to expect benefits from any pose. Expectations make you restless because if you fail to get what you expect, you feel miserable.
Yoga practice is an act of adoration to the Lord. You do it because it has to be done. If you have this mental attitude, your selfishness disappears and the benefits come.
